About Us

Located in Chillicothe, Ohio DeWard Publishing Company, Ltd. is a small publishing company that is currently specializing in religious material. DeWard Publishing opened its doors in the summer of 2007, and released its first book the following September. Currently, our primary publishing interests include, but are not limited to:

• General-interest, devotional-type religious books about Christian living, apologetics, and other related subjects.
• Collections of essays about a specific subject or in someone’s honor.
• Academic and scholarly books focusing on a specific Bible book (such as a commentary).
• Academic and scholarly books focusing on a specific Biblical studies concern (such as textual criticism).

We are able to print your book in quantities as large or small as the need, and will list your book on such Internet marketplaces such as Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

Submission Guidelines

If you wish to submit a manuscript to us, we ask that you send the following:

1. A query letter telling us what the book is about, for whom it is written, what distinguishes it from other books currently available on the subject, how long it is, and what your qualifications are for writing the book. We also ask that you tell us if you are submitting your material simultaneously to another publisher.

2. A prospectus, table of contents, and perhaps an introduction and sample chapters. During your initial contact, we do not wish to receive your entire manuscript.

3. If we accept your initial proposal, we will request that you send the entire manuscript. All manuscript material should be typed or printed out, double-spaced, on one side of the paper. If the work was prepared on a computer, we will request a copy of the disk only if the manuscript is accepted for publication.
